Ok, I realize this isn’t exactly “Enterprise” Geeky - but I got really excited about it all the same. Say what you will about Microsoft and Vista, yet somehow the same company that is screwing the pooch so badly on the OS front is kicking ass when it comes to their Xbox division.
Somehow they seem to be able to add new features while not alienating their core audience of gamers (unlike some people - cough, cough - Nintendo). But the NetFlix partnership seems the most impressive. Personally I had used NetFlix from very early on. Lately I had suspended my subscription simply because I had gotten in the bad habit of letting the DVDs lay around my office for far too long. But being able to stream even older catalog titles over my Xbox 360 is just enough incentive to get back using NetFlix. Heck even though the update to support NetFlix on the 360 doesn’t come out until this Fall, I went ahead and reactived my account yesterday after first hearing the news.
